Meadowfoam, a relatively new crop, is grown for its oil that so far has been used in cosmetic products, with promise for industrial, medicinal, and food product markets. This project is developing superior cultivars with increased seed yield and higher oil concentration; resistance to lodging, disease, and pests; and unique nutritional and chemical traits. Herbicides are being evaluated, and new uses for the seed and oil, developed.
