Phytophthora species damage forests and landscapes. The pathogen can be transported to new areas through nursery sales. One of these, Phytophthora ramorum, continues to cause Sudden Oak Death in California's coastal woodlands. This project is identifying the sources of Phytophthora on nursery hosts and recommending changes in management strategies to eliminate this potentially devastating pathogen.
