Vegetable varieties are bred and evaluated for their adaptation to Oregon and utility to vegetable growers and processors, as well as home gardeners. Besides research with beans (reported elsewhere), this project is working to find virus-resistant pumpkin, tomato with increased delivery of healthful antioxidants, stringless edible-pod peas, root-rot resistant sweet corn, and open-pollinated broccoli for organic farmers.
